Men's Club

As an affiliate of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, the Congregation Etz Chaim Men’s Club aims to fulfill the mission of “Involving Jewish Men in Jewish Life.”

Etz Chaim Men’s Club is an active and award winning chapter with a strong and growing membership who participate in a range of activities that are planned for throughout the year. The activities provide valuable services and functions for the congregation. These include participating in social events that involve other congregants, joint events with other local Men’s Clubs, and activities for couples and family alike.

Each year the Etz Chaim Men’s Club helps build the synagogue Sukkah for Sukkot. To commemorate Yom Hashoah, we provide yellow candles to all members of Etz Chaim. We also lead a Men’s Club Shabbat service each year and provide gifts to all B’nai Mitzvah.

Our organization provides quality and relevant programming to help develop and enhance our knowledge and understanding of Conservative Judaism, and provide needed service and help with fundraising for the synagogue. We offer a full calendar of events, ranging from our famous monthly Best Breakfast in Town with thought-provoking speakers and social action events, to tzedakah for our congregation. We also co-sponsor some events with the Sisterhood, such as Shu Shan Purim Wine Tasting and we maintain the Holocaust Memorial Garden, which is adjacent to the entryway to the synagogue.

The current and future leaders of the synagogue are trained and groomed through Men’s Club programs and activities. The members of the Men’s Club participate in and contribute to the daily minyan. We are lay leaders in the annual Men’s Club Retreat and sponsor and conduct the annual Men’s Club Shabbat. We are gabis, helpers, and ushers for shul services and organize and conduct the annual World Wide Wrap teaching our Hebrew school students how to put on Tefillin.
